Swim & Dive Bounces Back on Day Two to Close Weekend’s Meet

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. (Oct. 18, 2025) – The University of Wyoming swim and dive program finished out its Dual Meet against Air Force, Denver and LSU with 10 event victories and 18 Top 3 finishes, Saturday, at USAF Academy, Colo.

“We really stepped up on day two after a tough first day,” said Head Coach Dave Denniston.

“We had unbelievable swims from Isaac Lee, Jackson Kogler and a huge personal best from Raiden Harris, all while Macey Hansen continued to dominate.”

COWGIRLS

Day two at Air Force opened with the women’s 400-yard Medley Relay. The Cowgirls’ squad of freshman Raiden Harris, junior Taylor Craft, junior Sophie Nutter and junior Tara Joyce took second with an improved time of 3:47.81.

Sophomore Macey Hansen won her first 1,000-yard Freestyle race of the season with a time of 10:24.42. Freshman Isabelle Henderson followed Hasen in fifth with her finish of 10:42.56.

Harris also swam in the 50-yard Freestyle and came out with the win at 23.18. This marks Harris’ first collegiate dual meet victory. Joyce was the next finisher for Wyoming with her fourth-place time of 23.50.

Joyce added a third-place finish in the 200-yard Freestyle. She finished with a time of 1:52.80.

Senior Alicia Gonzalez took fourth in the 1-meter dive with a score of 248.50 points. In the platform, she also finished fourth, this time with a score of 194.70.

The Cowgirls beat Denver in the dual meet with a score of 188-184. However, they would fall to Air Force, 235.50-236.50, and LSU, 216-156.

COWBOYS

Junior Derek Long matched Hansen’s finish in the 1000-yard Freestyle with a victory of his own. He set a time of 9:52.69 to start the season.

Freshman Jackson Kogler picked up where he left off last night with a first-place finish in the 200-yard IM at 1:52.09

In the 50-yard Freestyle, Edward Rhoe improved with a time of 20.60 for second.

Sophomore Isaac Lee took second in the 200-yard Butterfly with a time of 1:53.60 while junior Adam Pannell touched the wall fourth in 1:54.29.

Junior Simon Casey finished third in the 200-yard Freestyle with a time of 1:42.21.

In the 200-yard Freestyle Relay, the Cowboy squad of freshman Jack Boysen, Casey, Rhoe and sophomore Luke O’Connor took first with a time of 1:21.69.

In the platform dive, sophomore Jonah Mann picked up second place with a score of 286.05.

While the Cowboys took some big victories over some SEC opponents, they would fall to all three teams. Against Air Force, 211-161, Denver, 189-183, and LSU, 225-147.
