Rena “Minnie” was born in the rock house at the Borgialli ranch to Joe and Lorena (Weaver) Borgialli, about 15 miles south of Newcastle, in the Clareton area. She attended Borgialli School, except for one year at the Lone Tree School, through the seventh grade. Then, she rode the school bus to Newcastle through her high school years. She graduated with the class of 1954.

Minnie’s favorite things to do as a child were riding horses and dancing. Every weekend the whole family would attend a dance somewhere in the county. She had a lot of fun with her family growing up. All ranch chores were done as a family, and her parents helped start the Sage Brush Maids and Wranglers 4-H clubs, when she was 10 years old. She belonged to this club until graduating high school. Throughout high school, Minnie worked at Hested’s Department Store as well.

Minnie married Bobby Quick on March 24, 1954, as he was being shipped to Germany with the Army. While Bobby was overseas, she went to work at Mountain Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company as a telephone operator. When Bob returned from the Army, they lived and worked at the MW ranch. Bob started his own construction business, in which they worked for 15 years. Then Minnie went to work for the Wyoming Refining Company for 19 years, retiring in 1999.

Minnie was a 4-H leader for over 20 years. She taught leather craft for 4-H and for community education. She was a chapter parent for FHA and a Brownie Scout leader. She taught Sunday school and was a secretary at the Methodist church. Minnie was also a past member of Beta Sigma Phi and a past member of Phythion Sisters Lodge.

Minnie is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Bob Quick; parents, Joe and Lorena Borgialli; brothers, Charles, George, Jim, Roy and Clarence Borgialli; and her sister, Joanne Day.

She is survived by daughter, Julie (Mark) Lopez of Arvada, Wyoming; son, David Quick of Sturgis, South Dakota; daughter, Carol Ertman (Rodney Sutterfield) of Stringtown, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Dusti Hooks of Plant City, Florida, Becky (Eric) Saunders of Rozet, Wyoming, Melody Lopez of Deadwood, South Dakota, Cheyenne Lopez of Midland, Texas, Morgan (Travis) Fack of Sheridan, Wyoming, Lorena Quick of Billings, Montana, Leo (Candice) Ertman of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Joey Ertman of Stringtown, Oklahoma, and Tia (Skye) Womack of Calera, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Connor Hooks of Gillette, Wyoming, Hadley Hooks of Plant City, Garrett Saunders and Shelbi Saunders of Gillette, Anwynn and Anitra Fack of Sheridan, Alexes and Jace Ertman of Broken Arrow, and Lydia and Vic Womack of Calera, Oklahoma; along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
