Nick Harper, 61, from Osage, Wyoming, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in Rapid City, South Dakota, on Nov. 26, 2024.
A celebration of life will be held at the Ramkota Hotel in Rapid City on Friday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, in Newcastle, Wyoming, at 1 p.m.
Nick was born on May 30, 1963, to Ralph and Leona Harper and grew up in Osage. He attended school in Osage and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1981. He was involved in all sports, with a special love for football.
After graduation, Nick worked in the oil fields around Newcastle before driving truck over the road. He then moved to Rapid City in the early 1990s, where he began working construction. He was heavily involved with youth sports, coaching football and baseball for many years. He also owned rental property. He moved back to Osage in 2011 where he resided until his death.
Nick is survived by his son, Jordan (Alejandra) Harper; daughter, Chelsie Sparks; brothers, Mike, Tim (Brenda), and Rod (Tana) Harper; grandchildren, Isabella Harper, Cooper, Chloe, and Bentley Sparks; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Leona; brother, Gerry Harper; and nephews, Gerry Jr. and Travis Harper.
