KEVIN KIRK JAHRIG

March 3, 1968–March 18, 2024

Kevin Jahrig of Groves, Texas, formerly of Newcastle, Wyoming, passed away on March 18, 2024.

Kevin was born on March 3, 1968, to George Jahrig and Millie Merwin Jahrig in Worland, Wyoming.

Kevin is preceded in death by his mother, father, and bonus mom, Edna Jahrig.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Michelle Jahrig (Ernie); bonus daughters, Brittany Shoalmire (DJ), and Brandi Shive (Roberto); grandson and the apple of his eye, Nolan Nuno; sisters, Kerri Hulett (Frank), Cindy Simoneaux (Toby), Lori Kilgore (Grady), Christine Jones (Ron), Cathy Garcia (Gary), and Linda Nelson (Willis); brother, Kody Jahrig; bonus grandchildren, Angel, John, Julie, Emily, Rubie, Jacob, Ryland, and Katherine; nieces, Brittney, Danielle, Hanna, and Harlee; nephews, Josh and Logan; and friends, Denise and Lonnie.

Kevin was a veteran of the U.S.S. Navy. He served on the U.S. Midway (CV-4) in Japan. The Midway restationed to San Diego for decommissioning, which Kevin was a part of. Kevin then was on the commissioning crew of the John C. Stennis (CVN-74) in Norfolk, Virginia, before he left the Navy. Kevin spent the next 26 years before his death as a big rig driver.

Kevin moved to Groves in August of 2023 to be with his daughter and grandson. That time was filled with a lot of memories to be shared as Nolan gets older.

The memorial service for Kevin Jahrig will be held Friday, July 12, at 5 p.m. at Church on The Hill in Newcastle.
