When it comes to our struggles, anxieties, and burdens, we often hold on tightly, thinking we can fix everything on our own. But God calls us to surrender these issues to Him. The truth is, you can’t expect God to fix what you won’t hand over to Him.

1 Peter 5:7 encourages us to "cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." This verse highlights the importance of handing over our troubles to God. It’s an invitation to trust Him completely, acknowledging that He is more capable of handling our problems than we are. Yet, despite this promise, many of us find it challenging to let go and let God take control.

Our reluctance to hand over our problems to God often stems from a desire for control. We fear the unknown and worry about what might happen if we release our grip. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." Trusting God requires us to step out in faith, believing that His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9).

Another reason we may struggle to surrender our burdens is pride. We might think we can handle everything on our own, or we might feel ashamed to admit our weaknesses. However, 2 Corinthians 12:9 tells us, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." God doesn’t ask us to be strong on our own; He asks us to rely on His strength.

When we hold on to our burdens, we are essentially saying that we don’t trust God enough to handle them. Matthew 11:28-30 assures us that Jesus invites us to "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." By handing over our troubles, we find rest and peace in Him.

Surrendering our struggles means praying and seeking His guidance, trusting that He is in control, and believing that He will work all things for your good (Romans 8:28). Let go of your desire for control and allow God’s peace to rule in your heart (Colossians 3:15).

Remember, you can’t expect God to fix what you won’t hand over to Him. Surrender your struggles to Him, trust in His plan, and experience the peace and freedom that come from relying on His strength rather than your own.
