Keystone, S.D., May 19, 2026 – National Forest System Road (NFSR) 353.2C, also known as Government Pasture, will be closed from June 1 through July 1, 2026, to support resource protection efforts.

The temporary closure is necessary to reduce vehicle traffic on NFSR 353.2C and nearby user created routes. Limiting traffic during this period will help improve the quality and quantity of available forage for permitted cattle grazing in the area throughout June. The 30-day closure will provide more favorable grazing conditions while still allowing the public to access and enjoy the surrounding area by foot or other non-motorized means.

We appreciate the public’s cooperation and patience during this closure as we work to provide a safe environment for both grazing livestock and forest visitors.

The NFSR 353.2C Road Closure Order No. BKF-191-2026, and associated map, can be found on the Black Hills National Forest website. For more information on the Black Hills National Forest, visit https://www.fs.usda.gov/r02/blackhills.
