CHRIS ALLEN HANSEN
June 29, 1954–March 27, 2024
Chris Allen Hansen, age 69, went home to the Lord on March 27, 2024.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 6 at 11:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 23 North Seneca Ave., Newcastle, Wyoming.
Chris was born in Newcastle on June 29, 1954, to parents Bill and Lorna Hansen. He grew up and attended schools in Newcastle. Chris played basketball, played in the band, and was a Scout. He graduated from Newcastle High School in 1972. He enjoyed his class reunions. He was a member of the Methodist church and loved the Lord.
Chris enjoyed the outdoors. He went on many deer and
elk hunting trips with his grandparents, parents, uncles and cousins. Likewise, fish-ing, camping times, skiing and climbing were fabulous
adventures.
After graduation from high school, Chris moved to Spearfish, South Dakota, and worked and obtained his Master Electrician certification. He owned his own company, Hansen Electric. He married Georgia Sandgren. Involvement in the Spearfish community was important to Chris, and he was a member of the Spearfish Volunteer Fire Department until retirement.
Chris graduated from Black Hills University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology/Assoc. He would say, “My most important birthday is my Alcoholics Anonymous birthday, March 16, 2000.” His sobriety and serving at AA were very important to him.
He is survived by his sister, Darlene (Travis) Sears; aunts and uncle, Rose Allen, Lorraine Davis, Barbara Hansen, Shirley Borgialli, Helen Nicolls, Jack (Betty) Hansen; and many cousins and friends.
The family offers a special thank you to Karen Dowdy — she is an angel for all of her loving care and help.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lorna Hansen; grandparents, Ross and Lorella Allen and Carl
and Ella Hansen; uncles and aunts, Junior and Bertha Allen, Ervin Allen, Roosevelt and Ariel Cole, Anna Marie Rawhouser, Roy Borgialli, Jimmy and Zelpha Hansen, Fred Hansen, Corbin Nicolls and Russell Davis.
Expressions of condolences can be sent to Karen Dowdy, 3310 7th Ave., Apt. 1, Spearfish, SD, 57783. The family requests no flowers, and welcomes your attendance at his service and reception at the Methodist church. The burial at Boyd Cemetery will be at a later date. Live streaming of the service will be available on Methodist church website.
Cremation services were provided by Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel and Isburg Crematory, Spearfish.
