LARAMIE, Wyo. (Feb. 15, 2022) – The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team closes its three-game road swing and 5-of-6 game stretch on the road with a Thursday trip to Border Rival Colorado State for a 6 p.m., contest. After Thursday’s contest, UW will close the season with three-straight at home.
Thursday’s game will be broadcast live on the Mountain West Network and can be heard across the Cowgirl Radio Network with Keith Kelley on the call.
ABOUT THE COWGIRLS
Wyoming (12-10, 8-5 MW) has won four straight and 6-of-7 overall of late and is coming off an 84-64 win at San Jose State February 14. The Cowgirls set season-highs in points, field goals made (33), shooting percentage (57.9) and 3-point percentage (60.0) in the victory.
McKinley Bradshaw scored a career-high 33 points on 13-of-21 shooting from the floor and 4-for-6 from 3-point range. The 33 points are tied for the seventh-most in program history for a single game. It also marks the first time a Cowgirl has scored 30-or-more in a contest since 2020. Behind the strength of Monday’s performance, Bradshaw now ranks seventh in the Mountain West in scoring at 15 points per game while her 16.4-point clip in conference-only contests ranks fifth.
Allyson Fertig had 13 points and seven boards in the win at SJSU while Paula Salazar added eight points off the bench and Quinn Weidemann chipped in with six on a pair of 3-pointers. Weidemann is now just five points shy of joining the 1,000-Point Club in program history.
In the last four games, the Cowgirls are averaging 17 assists per game, including a season-high 21 in the February 5 win at New Mexico. In those four games, UW has made 105 field goals and have assisted on nearly 65-percent of its made field goals.
With Wyoming’s road sweep at Fresno State and San Jose State, it marks the Cowgirls’ first 2-0 road trip sweep since December of 2019 when they defeated Air Force and New Mexico.
