Writing for Someone: The Purpose of My Pen

When I sit down to write, I remind myself that what I share is not for everyone, but what I write is meant for someone. I trust that God has a specific purpose for each message, and my job is simply to be faithful in expressing what the Holy Spirit inspires me to share. Just as Paul stated in 1 Corinthians 9:16, “For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!” This urgency resonates in my heart, motivating me to write with intention and passion.

As I reflect on Ephesians 3:7-8, which says, “Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace, which was given me by the working of His power. To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,” I’m reminded that I am called to share the unfathomable riches of Christ through my words. It is a gift of grace given to me, and I consider it a privilege to convey His message to others. I recognize that the words I write may resonate with someone in a way that I can’t fully comprehend. It is not about the number of readers or the acclaim I receive; it’s about being obedient to God’s prompting and sharing the truth that He lays on my heart.

Colossians 1:28-29 encapsulates my desire to help others grow in their faith: “We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.” My hope is that, through my writing, I can contribute to someone’s spiritual journey, encouraging them to take steps toward maturity in their relationship with God.

Ultimately, I have no control over how my writing impacts others; that is in God’s hands. He knows who needs to hear these words and how they will be used in their lives. I trust that He will take care of bringing my words to those for whom they are meant. My responsibility is to remain faithful, to listen, and to write what the Holy Spirit instructs. With each post, I surrender the outcome to God, confident that He will accomplish His purposes through my humble efforts.
