Who are you thankful for?

t is once again that time of the year when the community comes together to celebrate the holidays and rally behind those who are in need. 
Although the organizers of the United Fund Pie Auction have chosen not to hold an auction this year, you can still donate to the United Fund to support local non-profits (see story on Page 9).
We are proud of how this community helps those in need, and this was once again evident in the last couple of weeks when a stranded truck driver traveling from Texas received meals and more from Weston County residents (see story on Page 9.)
As you come together with friends and family next week to celebrate Thanksgiving, don’t forget to let the News Letter Journal know who you are thankful for in the Weston County community. Here at the paper, we are actively preparing to highlight this year’s NLJ Person of the Year, as well as nominees for the award who made a difference in the community. 
Whether the difference seems small or large, we still want to know — send us your nominees and why they deserve to be the Person of the Year!
The NLJ staff looks forward to producing this issue every year, and we think it is a community favorite as well. We enjoy telling the stories of those who put a smile on someone else’s face and made Weston County a better place to live, learn and work.
