Robert “Dean” Johnson
I run as a candidate for Weston County School District #1 to serve the community that my grandparents and great-grandparents chose as a homestead location. A community that my parents continued to occupy and decided to raise a family in. Here, they raised six children and became a complimentary addition to a small but growing town. I, as part of that was raised here, educated here, and eventually started my own family with my wife, Tammy. Our three sons were all educated in Newcastle. This community has given me my past, present, and future. Newcastle is and always will be my home. It is impossible to list all it has given me. To repay my community in some way is why I offer to serve.
My goals as a board member are to continue to listen, be fair and just, and provide a safe and friendly environment for students and staff to learn, grow, and expand their education. I would hope that all new and present members of this board would continue to offer as many academic and extracurricular activities as is “financially responsible.” We must also maintain a constant line of communication with leaders in state government. They control our funding levels! If elected, I will continue to do my best for this “Great Community”!
Thank you.
