Weston County School Board #7 Election: Gene Knapp

Also tell us what qualifications and characteristics you possess that will help ensure that your stated goals can be achieved. (The same question was posed to all candidates for the General Election.)
 

Gene Knapp 
My name is Gene Knapp, and I have been a member of the Weston County School District #7 school board in Upton for two terms. I have chosen to run for a third term to continue assisting the school district
I am married to a teacher at Upton and support the students, educators, staff and administration. I feel we have a great staff at Upton who are dedicated to the education of our students. 
My desire is to continue to help make decisions that support our students in our school. I am concerned about their education, and want all students to be successful. 
My involvement as a board member was instrumental in my decision to run for another term. I want to continue with the work I have been doing. I am on the committee of school maintenance since being elected. I have been a part of many major projects that have benefitted the long term of the buildings and facilities and have helped to organize a scheduled maintenance plan. Myself and other board members have also worked to keep an efficient budget by managing the finances in order to help aid our teachers to get what is needed to support the education of our students.
