Liz Cheney
I am honored to be Wyoming’s lone representative in the U.S. House. I have championed reform to create jobs, cut taxes and regulation, expand Wyoming’s energy, mining and ag industries and restore American power and strength. I have kept my campaign promise to work to reduce the size of government and roll back harmful regulations that hurt Wyoming’s economy and amounted to a war on our way of life. As a proud constitutional conservative, I have co-sponsored legislation that would crack down on illegal immigration, preserve the constitutional rights of gun owners across America and protect life with bills that expand the Hyde Amendment and defund Planned Parenthood.
My first bill signed into law by President Donald Trump overturned Planning 2.0, a federal power grab that would have expanded the control exercised by environmental groups and bureaucrats over our land. Congress has used the Congressional Review Act to undo other Obama-era rules, including the Stream Buffer Rule and the OSHA Power Grab Rule. I also introduced legislation that would prevent moratoriums on coal leases on federal land without congressional approval, reform the Equal Access to Justice Act, restore Wyoming’s full share of our mineral royalty revenues, and defend the rights of our ranchers to their grazing allotments.
The U.S. House repealed Dodd-Frank regulations that hurt our community banks. We also passed legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare and allow individuals to purchase health insurance across state lines. Together with the Senate and President Trump, we cut taxes and repealed Obamacare’s individual mandate with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. These efforts are already working to expand economic growth and create more jobs. Since the beginning of this Congress, these reforms have led to more than 3.5 million new jobs, the lowest unemployment rate in 17 years, and driven small business confidence to an all-time high.
I have also been a leader in the fight to rebuild our military. We passed the 2019 defense appropriations bill, marking the first time in 9 years that the Defense Department will not be forced to operate under a continuing resolution.
Despite this progress, there is more work to do. With your support, I’ll continue to work to cut the size of government, roll back regulation and stop federal overreach into the lives of our local fossil fuel, agriculture, ranching and business communities.
I humbly ask for your vote. You can learn more about my record by visiting www.cheneyforwyoming.com.
