Greg Hunter
I am running to ensure that Wyoming voices are acknowledged and addressed in U.S. Congress. The bills crafted and supported by Rep. Cheney have devalued the consensus of Wyoming voices. Many people in Wyoming continue to live in poverty, without fair wage, health insurance, or adequate resources to achieve stability. U.S. Congress is dividing our nation by their inability to compromise, listen, and serve their constituents.
I will prioritize engaging across party lines and not be captive to intractable leadership. I believe that if we talk to each other, we have more in common than we do differences. As congressman, I can help find consensus to move Wyoming and our nation forward. We must remember we are all Americans and the world is getting better it just seems that it is not because of social media and the constant barrage of negativity from cable news.
Wyoming witnessed the debate between the current representative and myself on PBS. It was an honor to represent the right side of history and express pro-Wyoming views on public lands, health care, energy, diversification, and federal issues.
We need to get dark money out of politics. No matter how lean a campaign you run, this process is expensive for an average Wyoming citizen, such as myself. I am adamant about serving Wyoming’s people NOT lobbyists or out-of state donors as Liz Cheney has for the last two years.
As the sole U.S. representative for the great state of Wyoming, my 2019 voting record will reflect and protect the interests of Wyoming people, Wyoming economy, and Wyoming resources and keeping public lands in public hands.
In my 35 years of professional work, I have obtained an understanding of the complexities within the intersection of clean water and clean air with energy development. This knowledge will allow me to contribute a more balanced approach and reduce the divisive atmosphere impacting D.C. politics.
It is critical that I promote legislative action to protect our clean air and clean water as Wyoming promotes energy development that will benefit all Wyomingites: ensuring sustained revenue, employment, healthcare, tourism, public education and well-being of our Wyoming communities.
I will also work with legislators on issues that will reduce non-essential requirements that restrict energy from leaving Wyoming as I have a scientific background and numerous contacts in the industry that will allow me to generate common sense approaches to energy while protecting public health and public lands.
In Congress, I will only craft and support bills that balance the Wyoming we currently inhabit and the Wyoming that we envision for our future generations. I will encourage conversations and represent data-driven, well-measured, stakeholder-considered decisions. I will always put Wyoming first. I will not be rolled over by either party for the sake of expediency to obtain a “win” for the team. I have enjoyed discussing issues with people all across the state and will maintain these relationships in Washington, D.C. I will always invite others to join the conversation.
