They Settle for Scraps, Not Knowing There’s a Feast

Many are spiritually starving and don’t even know it. Jesus offers more than surface-level faith—He offers a feast of truth, grace, and life that satisfies every soul.
Many walk through life spiritually starving—filling up on surface-level Christianity, but never truly satisfied. But Jesus didn’t invite us to a table of leftovers. He offers a feast—rich in grace, truth, and power.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” — Matthew 5:6
People are starving, but they don’t even realize it. They nibble on short devotionals, quick feel-good lines, and soft sermons that avoid truth. They’re full of noise but empty inside. They settle for what’s easy, not what’s lasting.
Jesus said, “People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)
The problem isn’t that the feast isn’t there. It’s that most people don’t know they’re hungry for it. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6)
Paul warned that a time would come when people would not tolerate sound doctrine but would chase teachers who say what they want to hear. (2 Timothy 4:3)
God isn’t offering stale bread. The table is full.
Jesus Offers a Feast
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies...” (Psalm 23:5)
Jesus said, “I am the bread of life; the one who comes to Me will not be hungry.” (John 6:35)
And again, “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” (Psalm 34:8)
He’s not just a Sunday snack—He’s daily bread, living water, and a table that never runs dry.
Why Do People Stay Empty?
Because they’ve never tasted what’s real.
“They have a form of godliness but deny its power.” (2 Timothy 3:5)
They’ve heard about Jesus—but they haven’t surrendered to Him. They honor Him with their lips, but their hearts are far away. (Matthew 15:8)
Some are always learning, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (2 Timothy 3:7)
It’s not that they don’t hear—it’s that they haven’t let it change them.
Christ is the feast. He isn’t just the one inviting us—He is the feast.
“Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life...” (John 6:54)
“In Your presence is fullness of joy.” (Psalm 16:11)
He is the bread, the wine, the joy, the rest, the answer. The world leaves us empty. Christ fills to overflowing.
It all starts with hunger
No one eats without hunger. And no one finds life in Christ without a thirst for it.
“Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness...” (Matthew 6:33)
“As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You, God.” (Psalm 42:1)
“Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.” (Psalm 81:10)
He fills the hungry—not the full.
The feast is here. Jesus is the table. But the only ones who eat are the ones who know they need Him.
Don't settle for scraps. There’s a feast waiting.
Come hungry.
