Thank a teacher
The first full week May of marks Teacher Appreciation Week annually but the COVID-19 pandemic and national school closures have caused teachers to adjust the method of teaching and the delivery system.
Now more than ever we want to thank those who are going above and beyond to try and maintain some sort of public education during this historic time, although it might be more work than fun for everyone involved. Thank you teachers for going the extra distance to reach out to the students that you care for deeply, thank you for spending hours contacting and reaching out to parents on a regular basis and thank you for readjusting your lesson plan to fit a distance learning scheme that no
one anticipated.
Also, every parent out there that has taken on the extra task of educating their children in a manner they never imagined deserves some thanks as well. For without those parents, the information and work being provided by the school system would be null and void.
Here at the News Letter Journal we keep our thoughts with those who are struggling everyday to get through this unprecedented time and can not wait for things to return to normal.
We look forward to a time when there are concerts, assemblies, programs, school activities and parent teacher conferences. We miss seeing all of your smiling faces on a regular basis and we miss sharing those with the rest of the state through our publication.
