Showcase the best of our town
M
arch Madness is coming to Newcastle, Absaraka Conference Style, with the 3A East Regional Basketball Tournament at Newcastle High School beginning Thursday. With the tournament comes both the girls and boys basketball teams from Buffalo, Burns, Douglas, Rawlins, Thermopolis, Torrington and Wheatland, along with their families and fans.
This tournament, hosted by the local high school, is a great opportunity for the community to showcase what Weston County has to offer as the Gateway to the Black Hills. It’s wonderful to see all the Dogie support throughout town, with black and orange gracing business windows and greetings to those traveling to our community.
Remember, this is an opportunity to highlight what Newcastle has to offer and this experience will not only stick with those coming to town for the weekend’s basketball action, but the experience will be shared with their friends and family, both in and out of Wyoming. Word of mouth is one of the best ways to promote a community, and Newcastle has the opportunity to leave a good taste, both literally and figuratively speaking, of more than the just 200-plus people that will be spending the weekend cheering on their favorite team.
Not only is it important to be the best hosts possible, it is also important to encourage and support all the teams while exhibiting good sportsmanship throughout the weekend.
Come on down and help show the rest of the 3A East Regional teams how Newcastle rocks the Dogie Dome, beginning Thursday morning at 8:30 when the Newcastle High School girls’ basketball team takes on the Wheatland Lady Bulldogs to kick off the basketball action.
