Our Future

By

“Take action. Every story you’ve ever connected with, every leader you’ve ever admired, every puny little thing that you’ve ever accomplished is the result of taking action. You have a choice. You can either be a passive victim of circumstance or you can be the active hero of your own life.”
— Bradley Whitford, Commencement Address, University of Wisconsin 2004

Many of the students’ names from the class of 2019 have appeared in print within the pages of this paper over the years, and we are pleased and proud, along with the listed sponsors, to bring you the graduation section detailing these students’ goals for their future beyond graduation. Newcastle High School’s commencement ceremony is this Sunday at 2 p.m. in Crouch Auditorium and Robert Munger will be the speaker. (See page 10)
The majority of the class has goals to further their education, and you will note the variety of professions they are interested in pursuing. Some desire to enter the military/police profession and others listed nurse, teacher, welder, social worker, physical therapist, engineer, coder, biologist, mechanic, writer, minister, pilot and last but not least, to be good parents.
We need all of the above, and there will always be a need for people to do the jobs listed above, and do them well, so good luck to each and every one of you in your future endeavors. Congratulations on your high school graduation.
You are our future, and your actions can make the world a better place.
