COLUMBIA, Missouri (4/8/24) – The University of Wyoming men’s golf team completed Day 1 of the Tiger Intercollegiate on Monday at The Club at Old Hawthorne. The Cowboys sit in 10th place after carding a 574 (+6) after 36 holes of action.

“They’ve done a really solid job and had a huge improvement over everything from last week, which makes me happy,” head coach Joe Jensen said. “It’s a bounce-back process. I feel good about it. The guys played hard today. It’s unique coming from Arizona to the Midwest. They have done a really good job from that standpoint.”

Central Arkansas leads the team leaderboard with a 553 (-15). Missouri’s Jack Lundin and Stetson’s Dominic Clemons share the individual lead at 134 (-8).

Kristof Panke paced the Pokes at 139 (-3), which positions him in a tie for 12th. He opened with a 70 (-1), which encompassed five brides. Panke closed Monday with a 69 (-2) that had a quartet of birdies.

Jimmy Dales checked in at No. 2 on the team at 140 (-2), and that places him in a tie for 19th. He began with a 73 (+2) that featured two double bogeys but five birdies. Dales shaved six strokes off that in Round 2 with a 67 (-4) that boasted six bridies.

Patrick Azevedo is tied for 32nd after a 143 (+1). He fired a first round 72 (+1) that saw 15 pars get carded and closed Monday with a 71 (E), which was all over the map and included five birdies.

Jaren Calkins showed consistency during Rounds 1 and 2 en route to being tied for 95th. He shot a 77 (+6) and backed that up with a 76 (+5) in the second round that included 14 pars.

Evan Johnson, who’s in 101st, carded an 80 (+9) followed by a 77 (+6). His two rounds featured a pair of birdies.

Davis Sybert, who’s competing as an individual, is tied for 102nd. He struggled shooting an 82 (+11) for Round 1 but rebounded with a much stronger 76 (+5) second round.

The third and final round wraps up Tuesday. The players begin teeing off at 8 a.m.
