With a little help from our friends
Those readers who have begun to follow the News Letter Journal online — either on our website at newslj.com or on our Facebook page — know that the NLJ has partnered with Wyoming’s other top newspapers to create the Wyoming News Exchange.
The partnership with other newspapers has allowed us to not only share Newcastle and Weston County’s stories with a larger statewide audience, but also to bring the top stories from the rest of Wyoming to our online readers.
We were pleased that our newly designed website and growing social media presence allowed us to offer this wealth of statewide news to our online readers, and are pleased to announce that this week we have started publishing news briefs from the Wyoming News Exchange on the legal notice pages for our loyal print customers as well. Including the statewide news stories online is much easier because of the limited amount of space available in the weekly edition of the NLJ, but the amount of interest that has been shown in those online stories has convinced us that we needed to find space for state news in our print edition as well. We simply feel we owe it to those of you who still enjoy sitting down with the newspaper each week.
We elected to run the state news briefs on the legal notice pages because we have found that those individuals who religiously read the legal notices are most likely to be interested in news from elsewhere in Wyoming that may impact us here. We also believe the legal notices contain a wealth of vital information, and are always looking for ways to encourage more of our readers to develop the habit of perusing them carefully each week. We hope the interest we’ve seen in the statewide news we have been offering online will translate to these pages, and draw more eyes and attention to the legal notices that are so important to our system of self-government.
We hope you like the change, and take advantage of it to be more informed.
