Keep the spirit alive

As they so often do, the children of the community set the example for holiday giving in Newcastle again in 2018, and we are asking the adults to embrace their example and use it build a more compassionate, cooperative and happier community in 2019.
As we head into the new year, many of the leftover hard feelings from the elections, court cases, political decisions and arguments of 2018 should be left behind as new leaders take their positions in the community and go to work for us. 
The challenges that face us in 2019 haven’t changed, and regardless of who “won” or “lost” the battles of 2018, the key to overcoming our shared obstacles successfully lies in pooling our collective talents and resources and facing our challenges head-on. 
We came together for the holiday, and should give ourselves the gift of moving forward into 2019 in the same spirit.
