Hold their “feet to the fire”

By

To the Editor:

Having spoken with Weston County Commissioner Don Taylor a week ago, he told me he had presented his resolution to the county board of commissioners regarding missed meetings and the cost to tax payers continuing to fund the meetings in full. The other four commissioners remained silent regarding the resolution and were not in favor of it. They wish for the voters to pay them for all missed meetings, as well as the insurance voters are funding.

You can attend a meeting and ask your commissioners why they think they deserve to be paid for “work” that was not completed or attended to by their absence. I think it is a very sad commentary on the remaining four commissioners who do not seem to care what is the “right think to do.”

I am unaware of any employer who would sanction employees missing work and demanding to be paid in spite of attendance.

America is facing many issues. It is very difficult to clean up the politics of Cheyenne and our federal government, but we can do something on our local level.

Remember these commissioners when you vote. America will not change until we change at home and hold our local politicians “feet to the fire,” as they say.

Sincerely,
