Have a Little Fun
So we’ve heard we have a tendency to take our jobs a little too seriously, and we certainly won’t argue or apologize for that. We think the serious news we deliver to our readers — the hard news that takes a little digging and makes us all a little uncomfortable from time to time — is one of the most important functions we perform for the community. It is what makes us relevant, and makes you informed, and we won’t ever hide from that part of the job.
But we also think it is important to set such things aside and find whatever moments of joy you can, so we also like to publish stories that help our readers celebrate the positive or even just escape into the (relatively) unimportant pursuits that life can offer.
Along those lines, we are excited this week to introduce you to our new interactive Games Tab on newslj.com. You can now tackle the same Crossword and Sukoku puzzles you enjoy in the weekly print edition of the News Letter Journal, but you don’t need a pencil, eraser or even a newspaper. Our online puzzles offer you the chance to place letters or numbers in our puzzles with a tap of your finger, so you can play them on your phone or tablet or even on your computer during a break at work. Our digital puzzle master will drop you a letter or word when you need a hint, and it even keeps time if you’re serious about challenging yourself and tracking your progress.
So take a little time to try out one of our games by scanning the QR code, and send us an email to let us know what you think!
