Get involved in state legislature

NLJ Staff

The 65th Wyoming Legislature began Monday, Feb. 10, in Cheyenne and legislators have a packed agenda for the session that will last between 20 and 24 days. Being a budget session, the main focus of the 2020 session is approving and implementing the budget for the 2021-2022 biennium, although senators and representatives are able to introduce bills for consideration.
The News Letter Journal as well as the Legislative Service Office encourage Weston County and all Wyoming residents to follow what our local legislators are doing as well as what is being done and proposed by legislators from across the state. The Wyoming Legislature uses www.wyoleg.gov as their avenue for providing continually updated information as each bill moves through the legislative process.
Using the website, citizens are able to find all legislation and amendments sponsored by legislative committees and individual members, the text of each bill, information on how legislators are voting on specific bills, and schedules for the upcoming business.
The News Letter Journal plans to cover updates from all four local legislators throughout
the session.
Through the website, residents can also contact their representatives by e-mail or by using the “Online Hotline,” which allows the public to recommend support for or opposition to a piece
of legislation.
Each of Weston County’s local legislators have publicly encouraged residents to contact them with any questions or concerns to at:
