Here at the News Letter Journal we have been working through the COVID-19 pandemic to bring you weekly news, despite the ongoing business shutdowns. Although numerous events have been cancelled, we are excited to see visitors begin to arrive as more states open up, and look forward to the Weston County Fair, Madness on Main, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, and other events of the summer, as well as the increased income those events will bring to the area. As such, NLJ is moving forward with two of our summer projects for 2020, the Hotel Guide and Western Heritage: NHS Legacy Series, and invite you and your businesses to be a part of
these projects.
The Hotel Guide is a project NLJ took on last year, with support from the Weston County Travel Commission. This product provides an introduction to visitors and is distributed to every hotel and motel in Weston County — as well as other businesses — to feature local businesses and what they have to offer. It also contains travel information and community information, such as locations of parks, event listings, outdoor activities in the area, church information and more, to help individuals visiting the area better navigate Weston County and to guide them to frequent local establishments. 
Despite the postponement of the Newcastle High School All School Reunion this year, NLJ staff is also working to produce the first installment of the Western Heritage: NHS Legacy Series/NHS Reunion tab, volume 1. This publication will feature stories highlighting Newcastle High School graduates and all their great accomplishments. Some of the stories featured in the publication will have appeared in the paper throughout the year while others will be seen for the first time in this special publication. 
As the community moves forward to prepare for the Newcastle High School All School Reunion held in 2021, NLJ will continue to share stories of graduates from near and far. These stories will then be featured in the second installment of the publication, just in time for the actual reunion. We expect both volume 1 and volume 2 to be publications that will be shared among NHS alumni near and far.
