In the broad scope of Christian faith, amidst doctrines, rituals, and traditions, a fundamental question resonates deeply: Do we really know Christ? This question goes far beyond mere intellectual knowledge; it demands that we closely examine our relationship with the Savior, challenging us to examine the depth of our understanding, intimacy, and devotion.

At a surface level, many of us can recite facts about Jesus—His birth, teachings, miracles, and sacrificial death. We may be familiar with the narratives of Scripture, the theological doctrines, and the historical context of His ministry. However, knowledge alone does not equate to intimacy or life changing relationship.

True knowledge of Christ extends beyond intellectual grasp. It involves a heart-to-heart connection, a personal encounter that transforms our lives. Philippians 3:10 expresses this longing: "that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death." It's a desire to experience the reality of Christ, His power, His presence, and His purpose in our lives.

Our knowledge of Christ is measured not by the depth of theological insights or doctrinal debates but by the fruit it bears in our lives. Galatians 5:22-23 outlines this fruit: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control." A genuine knowledge of Christ manifests in a change in ones character, in attitudes and actions that mirror His love and grace.

Knowing Christ is an ongoing journey—a dynamic relationship marked by intimacy, trust, and surrender. It's about daily communion through prayer, meditation on His Word, and yielding to His will. 1 John 2:3-6 says "By this we know that we have come to know Him if we keep His commandments. The one who says, 'I have come to know Him,' and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked."

In a world of superficiality and pretense, the challenge is to pursue an authentic relationship with Christ—a relationship that goes beyond religious rituals or external appearances. It's about knowing Him intimately, loving Him genuinely, and following Him wholeheartedly. The better we know Him the more we will be like Him.

"Do we really know Christ?" This question invites introspection, evaluation, and renewal of our relationship with the Savior. It's not about having all the answers but about surrendering our hearts to Him, allowing His love, truth, and power to transform us from the inside out. May our journey of knowing Christ be marked by intimacy, authenticity, and a deepening faith that transcends knowledge to embrace a vibrant, life-changing relationship with our Lord and Redeemer.
