Philippians 2:10-11 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

This passage from the New Testament of the Bible, specifically from the letter written by the apostle Paul to the church in Philippi. Let’s break down these verses to understand their meaning more deeply:

“so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW,” The key word in this phrase is “Every.” This part points out the universal authority and sovereignty of Jesus Christ. The act of every knee bowing signifies submission, reverence, and acknowledgment of His lordship.

“of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,” This phrase encompasses all beings in every realm of existence — those in heaven those on earth, and even those under the earth (referring to the deceased). It underscores the all-encompassing nature of Jesus’ lordship.

“and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” Once again the word “Every.” This is a declaration of confession and acknowledgment. Every tongue, not just believers, will one day confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, signifying a universal recognition of His divinity and authority, as Lord and Savior.

“to the glory of God the Father.” The ultimate purpose of this universal acknowledgment and confession is to bring glory to God the Father. It underscores the unity within the Trinity — Jesus Christ’s lordship brings glory to the Father.

Overall, Philippians 2:10-11 conveys the profound truth of Jesus Christ’s universal authority, the acknowledgment of His lordship by all beings, and the ultimate glorification of God through this acknowledgment. It’s a foundational passage for Christian theology regarding the supremacy of Jesus Christ.

Submit to Jesus as Lord and confess Him as such now, because ultimately, every person will come to acknowledge His lordship at some point, whether in this life or the next. It’s a truth that transcends time and circumstance, highlighting the inevitability of recognizing Jesus’ authority over all.

Whether you choose to do it now or postpone it, that decision is yours to make. However, it’s wise to consider making that choice soon, as none can predict when He will return, and delaying until then will be too late.
