Cowgirls Boast 11th-Ranked 2024 Mid-Major Recruiting Class
Ranked by Tennis Recruiting News website publication
LARAMIE, Wyo. (June 21, 2024) – The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team has been named the 11th-best 2024 mid-major recruiting class in the country earlier this month by the Tennis Recruiting Network. The Cowgirls 2024 class is the second-highest rated in the Mountain West.
At the time the rankings were released a trio of future Cowgirls had signed joined UW this fall in Dilnaz Mashabayeva (Kazakhstan), Eugenia Ceinos (Argentina) and Ruby Young (New Zealand). A fourth future student-athlete, Anastasiia Kockelaevsk (Russia) has signed with Wyoming since then. This is the first time since 2007 (No. 13) that a Cowgirl recruiting class was ranked in the mid-major top-25 by the TRN. Wyoming also received votes in 2017.
The Cowgirls are coming off a 16-11 season in 2024, a third-place finish in the Mountain West and their second consecutive trip to the Universal Tennis Postseason NIT. UW returns All-Mountain West Doubles Team honoree, Violetta Borodina, but must replace a pair of highly-decorated all-league performers in Noesjka Brink and Sophie Zehender. Nikol Dobrilova and Lucia Malinak were also in the spring graduating class at UW.
Wyoming will be entering its 14th season in 2024-25 under Head Coach Dean Clower.
