City of Newcastle meeting notice

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

 

The CITY OF NEWCASTLE, WYOMING will conduct a public meeting at 6:00 P.M., local time, on November 26th, 2024, in the City Council chambers at 10 W Warwick St, Newcastle, Wyoming.  The purpose of the meeting is to allow citizens to review and comment on the following projects listed below. Each project involves replacement of the existing infrastructure with new components, with minor adjustments and improvements to bring the system up to current standards. The existing system is aging and in poor condition.

 

At the meeting, the City of Newcastle will present the preliminary concept design of the proposed projects and will discuss the estimated cost of the improvements and the plan for funding the improvements.  A preliminary plan of improvements, cost estimates, and the funding plan can also be reviewed at the Newcastle City Clerk’s office at 10 W Warwick, Newcastle, Wyoming. The City of Newcastle has identified two projects to request eligibility for funding. Based on current cost estimates, the City of Newcastle plans to borrow $ 1,000,000 from the Wyoming Clean & Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund administered by the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments. Increased user fees will repay the loan. The average rate increase is estimated to be $ 1.00/month per user to repay the loan. Loan terms will be 2.5% interest rate and 20 years.
