Hi, my name is Ann McColley and I am running for a position on the Newcastle City Council. I am a lifelong resident of Newcastle and I love my hometown. I am married to Rick McColley and we have three children that we raised here. I have worked for Butte/Bridger Pipeline for the past 44 years, and am toying with the idea of finally retiring, which will give me more time to devote to the issues of the council.
The main reason that I am running for this office is that I believe I could be an asset to the board. I have previous experience, as I was a member of the Northern Wyoming Mental Health board for four years.
I would like to see the whole city working together to make it better so that it will survive and thrive. I believe that I could help our town to become more presentable to those either passing through or wishing to relocate here — first impression is always a lasting impression. I will encourage everyone to take pride in their property and our community, and to help make Newcastle a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
I have been a very positive supporter of Newcastle for many years, bringing to our town the beautiful planted coal cars, hanging flower baskets, Main Street mural project, and trying to attend and encourage all new ideas from those trying to help our town.
I do not have an axe to grind or an agenda to make. I will always be open to suggestions and questions from the citizens of Newcastle, and would be willing to have a get-together once in awhile to discuss different ideas. I would appreciate your confidence in me and your vote in the Nov. 6 election. Thank you.
