You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth!

Some carry Bibles but don’t carry Christ. This post challenges surface-level faith and reminds us that only Jesus saves—not religion, not ritual. If your life hasn’t changed, maybe your heart hasn’t either.

It’s a line from a movie, but it hits hard today. Because the truth is, a lot of people are sleepwalking toward hell with a Bible under their arm. They’ve got the right book, but the wrong heart. They know Scripture, but they don’t know the Savior. They sit in church, but they don’t walk with Christ.

Carrying a Bible won’t save you. Quoting verses won’t save you. Singing worship songs with your hands waving in the air won’t save you. Only Jesus saves.

It’s not about religion. It’s about relationship.

Let’s be honest: The world is full of people who know how to look the part. They dress up, smile, say “bless you,” and carry their Bible like a badge. But when no one’s watching, they live like the world. No conviction. No surrender. No repentance. No fruit.

Jesus said in Matthew 7:21, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.” That should shake us. It means some will think they’re saved—until it’s too late.

James 1:22 says, “Prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves.” You can sit in church and still be blind to the fact that you’re lost.  You can know all the right words and still miss the One they point to. Deceiving themselves. That’s the danger.

It’s not about checking boxes. It’s about a changed life.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” If nothing’s changed, then nothing’s been surrendered.

And let’s be clear—this isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being real. A real relationship with Christ brings conviction, growth, and a change. You’ll still stumble, but you won’t stay down. You’ll want more of Him and less of yourself.

Jesus said in John 10:27, “My sheep listen to My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” If you don’t yearn to be close to Him, then maybe you’re not one of His. That’s hard to hear—but it’s better to hear it now than to be shocked later.

This world is loud with false comfort. It tells you to just believe in something. It tells you your truth is enough. It tells you God just wants you to be happy. But here’s the truth: God wants your heart. All of it.

You want the truth? Here’s the harder truth: Until you surrender all, you’re still lost.

Because only the truth can set you free. John 8:32 says, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Your not free unless Jesus makes you free.

But that freedom comes with a calling. When Jesus sets you free, He doesn’t leave you the same. He calls you to live like Him. Holy. Set apart. Changed.

1 Peter 1:16 says, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” That’s not a suggestion. That’s the evidence.

If you’ve truly been set free, your life should show it.
