Wyoming’s average gas prices rise another 11 cents in the past week

CHEYENNE (WNE) — Average gasoline prices in Wyoming have risen 11.2 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $4.32 per gallon Monday, according to GasBuddy.com’s survey of 494 stations in Wyoming.

Prices in Wyoming are 23.8 cents per gallon higher than a month ago, and stand $1.29 per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has increased 16.6 cents compared to a week ago, and stands at $5.584 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy price reports, the lowest price in the state Sunday was $3.89, while the highest was $5.25, a difference of $1.36 per gallon.

The national average price of gasoline has risen 2.9 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $4.05/g today. The national average is down 5.0 cents per gallon from a month ago, and stands 92.6 cents per gallon higher than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country.

“Average gasoline prices moved higher in the majority of states over the last week, with fewer than 10 states seeing declines, while diesel surged nearly 17 cents per gallon nationally, leaving it less than 25 cents away from an alltime record high,” said Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

“While some oil shipments are apparently getting through the Strait of Hormuz, the dominant force propping up both gasoline and diesel prices is increasingly the growing loss of Russian refinery capacity,” said DeHaan, “as continued Ukrainian attacks knock more facilities offline and constrain the global supply of refined fuels. Until that refining supply picture improves, both gasoline and diesel prices face continued upward pressure.”
