Wyoming’s average gas prices down 1.6 cents a gallon in past week

CHEYENNE (WNE) — Average gasoline prices in Wyoming have fallen 1.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $4.29 per gallon Tuesday, according to GasBuddy.com’s survey of 494 stations in Wyoming.

Prices in Wyoming are 22 cents per gallon higher than a month ago, and stand $1.21 per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has increased 29.7 cents compared to a week ago, and stands at $5.867 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy price reports, the lowest price in the state Monday was $3.89 per gallon, while the highest was $5.09, a difference of $1.20 per gallon.

The national average price of gasoline has risen 2.2 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $4.09 on Tuesday. The national average is up 10.6 cents per gallon from a month ago, and stands 90.8 cents per gallon higher than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country.

Neighboring areas and their current gas prices:

• Fort Collins, Colorado — $4.15, down 9.1 cents per gallon from last week’s $4.24.
• Ogden, Utah — $4.29, down 6.4 cents per gallon from last week’s $4.36.
• Billings, Montana — $4.33, up 4.8 cents per gallon from last week’s $4.29.

“The milestone many hoped to avoid has arrived: the national average price of gasoline on Labor Day set a new all-time record for the holiday,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, “eclipsing the previous mark of $3.83 per gallon set in 2012.”
