Wyoming Wins USTFCCCA Mountain Region Field Athlete, Assistant Coach Awards

NEW ORLEANS (March 21, 2025) – Senior thrower Daniel Reynolds and assistant coach Paul Barrett were honored as the Men's Field Athlete of the Year and Men's Assistant Coach of the Year for the Mountain Region, announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Reynolds earned the award after winning the NCAA weight throw title with a meet record throw of 25.08 meters, sweeping the Mountain West Indoor Championships throws events and tying the No. 2 All-Time collegiate mark in the weight throw.

Barrett, throwing coach and strength coach for throwers, earned the honor in his 26th year as an assistant at Wyoming. He coached Reynolds to a national title and led his throwers to 32 points at the Mountain West Indoor Championships, including the weight throw and shot put title.
