Wyoming PBS to Carry Jan. 15 State of the State Address

RIVERTON–Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon’s annual State of the State address will be broadcast live again this year on Wyoming PBS. The governor is scheduled to deliver the speech to a joint session of the 68th Wyoming Legislature at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, from the Wyoming Capitol in Cheyenne.

Wyoming PBS public affairs senior producer Steve Peck will host the live broadcast. The event can be viewed on the main Wyoming PBS broadcast channel, and on the station’sYouTube channel and website

Following Gov. Gordon’s speech, Wyoming Supreme Court Chief Justice Kate M. Fox will give the State of the Judiciary message. Numerous state dignitaries and other guests are introduced during the State of the State proceedings, including Secretary of State Chuck Gray, State Treasurer Curt Meier, State Auditor Kristi Racines, and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Megan Degenfelder.

Along with Chief Justice Fox, Wyoming Supreme Court associate justices Robert Jarosh, John Fenn, Kari Gray, and Lynne Boomgaarden also are introduced formally during the ceremonies.

The State of the State address will occur in the House Chamber during a joint session of the Wyoming Senate and House of Representatives. Presiding over the special session are the two new legislative leaders, Speaker of the House Chip Neiman (R-Hulett) and Senate President Bo Biteman (R-Ranchester).

The 68th Wyoming Legislature convenes Tuesday, Jan. 14, and is scheduled to adjourn Thursday, March 6. For additional coverage of the Legislature during the 2025 session, tune in to “Capitol Outlook” every Friday for weekly interviews with lawmakers and key public officials. 

“Capitol Outlook” will air at 7:30 p.m. every Friday through the duration of the legislative session. The weekly episode will repeat at 1:30 a.m. and  5 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday. Following the premiere, episodes will be available anytime online atwyomingpbs.org, the Wyoming PBS App, and on the station’s YouTube channel

Weekly “Capitol Outlook” guests will be announced on the station’s social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram) before the 7:30 p.m. Friday broadcast. You can also subscribe to the Wyoming PBS newsletter to receive an email announcement.
