Wyoming Outdoor Council representatives to citizens: call delegation over public lands

CODY (WNE) — Wyoming Outdoor Council representatives warned of the legislative threat to federal public lands and encouraged concerned Park County residents to take civic action.

“Public lands are very much threatened,” WOC Executive Director Carl Fisher said during a presentation at the Cody Auditorium last Wednesday.

“It’s this moment right now that organizations like the WOC have been working decades to ensure that we are able to confront this threat of losing the legacy of the Western United States,” he said.

Fisher, along with WOC Organizing Director Carlie Ideker, encouraged those concerned citizens to contact their elected officials. 

“The more they hear from all of us, the more we’re going to get our point across. If you have the passion and the willingness (...) please keep lines of communication going,” Ideker said.

In addition to encouraging individuals to reach out to lawmakers in Washington D.C., Fisher also told attendees to contact their local representatives in the Wyoming state legislature and county commissioners.
