Wyoming Economic Indicators report released for August 2026

CHEYENNE (WNE) — Wyoming’s economic health improved slightly in June over last year, according to the Wyoming Economic Indicators Report. 

This report contains the Wyoming Economic Health Index, a coincident economic indicator designed to provide an overall assessment of the state’s economy.

Highlights from this month’s issue include the following:

• The Wyoming Economic Health Index reported an index value of 107.4 in June 2026. This value is higher than the June 2025 value of 106.8. The WEHI has increased year-over-year in three of the last six months.
• The unemployment rate for Wyoming in June 2026 was 3.2%, equal to the June 2025 rate, but lower than the June 2026 national unemployment rate (4.2%).
• Total non-farm payroll jobs in Wyoming numbered 295,000 in June 2026, higher than June 2025 by 1,000 jobs (+0.3%).
• Wyoming’s sales and use tax collections from the mining sector in June 2026 increased 48.0% compared to June last year.
• Wyoming’s collection of the 4% sales and use tax from lodging in June 2026 increased 14.8% compared to June last year.
