Wyoming Back on Track for Bobcat Challenge

BOZEMAN, Mont. (January 24, 2025) – The University of Wyoming track and field program hits the road, after sitting out last weekend, for its first away meet of the season when they travel to Bozeman, Mont., for the Bobcat Challenge hosted by Montana State, Saturday, at the Worthington Arena.

Teams 

Montana State (host), Idaho State, Wyoming

Admission is free for the de facto “double dual” with the Montana State and Idaho State track and field programs. Team scoring for the dual will run five points for first, three for second, two for third and one for fourth (5pts-3-2-1) in the individual events and five points for first and three for second (5pts-3) for the relays.

Wyoming will have 36 competitors across all 14 running events, 16 competing in eight field events and will run two teams in the women’s 4x400m and one in the men’s relay. Saturday will also double as the season opener for several Cowboys and Cowgirls, both on the track and in field events.

9:15 a.m. – Men’s Weight Throw followed by Women’s Weight Throw, Men’s Shot Put and Women’s Shot Put

9:15 a.m. – Men’s High Jump

10:15 a.m. – Women’s Long Jump followed by Men’s Long Jump, Women’s Triple Jump and Men’s Triple Jump

11 a.m. – Women’s Pole Vault followed by Men’s Pole Vault

1 p.m. – Women’s High Jump

Running Events:

10:45 a.m. – Women’s 60m Hurdles Prelims

10:55 a.m. – Men’s 60m Prelims

11:05 a.m. – Women’s 60m Prelims

11:15 a.m. – Men’s Mile

11:25 a.m. – Women’s Mile

11:35 a.m. – Men’s 60m Hurdles Final

11:45 a.m. – Women’s 60m Hurdles Final

11:50 a.m. – Men’s 60m Final

11:55 a.m. – Women’s 60m Final

Noon – Men’s 400m

12:15 p.m. – Women’s 400m

12:30 p.m. – Men’s 800m

Last Time Out

Cowboys and Cowgirls opted to skip the travel to Boulder, Colo., for the Colorado Classic due to a Winter Weather Advisory in the Wyoming and Colorado areas. Instead, The teams held an intrasquad practice to stay in the competition groove.
