LARAMIE, Wyoming (1/7/25) – The University of Wyoming wrestling team saw plenty of movement in the latest batch of national rankings. While not as many Cowboys are ranked in the most recent set of polls, the ones that are vaulted up.
After the news broke that Jore Volk (125) will miss the remainder of the season with injury, a pair of Cowboys assumed the role of highest ranked on the squad. Joey Novak (197) and Jared Hill (157) each boast as high as the No. 12 spot. Novak owns that post in Flo and Open Mat’s polls and Hill earned that spot in Open Mat’s rankings.
Gabe Willochell (149) moved inside of the top 20. He’s ranked as high as No. 19 in WIN’s poll.
Cole Brooks rounds out the ranked Pokes. He’s No. 30 in InterMat’s rankings.
Wyoming is back in action on Friday and Saturday. The Cowboys participate in the NWCA National Dual Meet Championships inside the UNI-Dome on the campus of Northern Iowa.
