Woman who allegedly forged medical notes for son faces felony charges

GLENROCK (WNE) — A Glenrock woman faces two felony charges for forgery as law enforcement alleges she falsified two medical notes for her son late last year.
Devani Eckhardt, born in 1982, was arrested by the Glenrock Police Department on Dec. 7, 2024. A few days prior, the GPD was alerted by Glenrock Junior/Senior High School staff to two suspicious medical notes.
“The notes were handwritten, which is suspicious for a medical facility,” said the affidavit. “The notes were for (Eckhardt’s) son.” The affidavit doesn’t specify the contents of the medical notes
or anything else pertaining to the child’s situation.
Law enforcement discovered the phone number listed on the medical notes was not that of Western Medical Associates in Casper, where the notes supposedly originated. The GPD contacted the hospital, and was told that staff there did not write the notes.
The physician’s assistant whose signature was written on the medical notes told law enforcement it looked as though the letterhead had been copied and the note written by someone else who forged his signature.
Eckhardt insisted the notes were genuine and declined a formal interview with the GPD.
If convicted, Eckhardt faces up to 10 years and $10,000 in fines for the two charges. Her case was bound to state district court on March 21. She is no longer incarcerated.
