White and Reynolds Break School Records at a Sunny Doug Max Invite

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (May 3, 2025) – The University of Wyoming track and field program closed out the regular season with 12 Top-10 program times and 34 personal bests in its second meet in as many meets in Fort Collins at the Doug Max Invitational on Saturday.
FIELD EVENTS
The meet opened with the men’s hammer throw loaded with All-American talent. Senior Daniel Reynolds finished in second with a personal-best and new school record throw of 239’ 4 3/4" (72.97 meters). This throw moved Reynolds to No. 9 in the country. Freshman Charles LaFore took sixth with his throw of 62.79 meters.
In the women’s hammer, the top finisher for Wyoming was Isabella Reimann with a toss of 178’ 11 1/2" (54.55 meters).
In one of the toughest shot put outings, junior Kais Kimuli placed fourth with her throw of 46’ 2 1/4" (14.08 meters) while senior Allyson Fertig took sixth with her toss reaching 13.80 meters.
Junior Cam Burkett set a personal best in the shot put and won with a throw of 63’ 1” (19.23 meters). This mark now ranks No. 3 in outdoor school history and moved Burkett to No. 21 in the country. LaFore also set a personal best with his toss of 57’ 0 1/2" (17.39 meters).
The last throw event for Wyoming was the men’s discus throw. All three Cowboys, LaFore, freshman Quinn Lindsay and junior Gage Griffith set personal bests. They finished in fifth (50.02 meters), seventh (49.69 meters) and eighth (48.47 meters), respectively.
Freshman Koi Adderley shined with her high jump clearance of 5’ 5 1/4" for third in the finals.
In the men’s long jump, junior Remar Pitter finished in third with his jump of 23’ 8 1/4" (7.22 meters) while sophomore Christian Edwards took fourth with his leap of 7.12 meters, a personal best.
The top Cowgirl finisher in the long jump was Junior Elayna Chafee with her second-place jump of 19’ 5 1/4" (5.93 meters). Chafee then went on to win the triple jump with her leap of 40’ 11 1/2" (12.49 meters), a new personal best and the No. 4 mark in outdoor program history.
In the men’s triple jump, senior Jefferson Danso placed third with his jump of 49’ 5 1/4” (15.07 meters) in the finals.
TRACK EVENTS
In the first track event of the meet, senior Kylie Simshauser crossed the line second with a personal-best time of 4:23.22 in 1,500 meters, the new No. 6 time in school history.
Four other Cowgirls set a personal best in the 1,500 meters. Freshman Muriel Jones ran to a 4:29.77 finish, graduate Marina Trave Ferrer finished with a time of 4:39.31, senior Nina Zraik crossed the line at 4:41.97 and junior Brooke Holzworth finished with a time of 4:48.27.
Two Cowboys broke the 1,500-meter school record on Saturday. Junior Jacob White ran a time of 3:40.52 for the No. 1 time, first-place finish and the meet record time. Senior Mason Norman finished in seventh with his time of 3:42.57, a personal best and the new program No. 2 time.
Three other Cowboys also set personal bests. Junior Mac Zastrow finished with a time of 3:44.98, senior Trevor Stephen crossed the line at 3:47.37 and senior Gus McIntyre finished at 3:47.58, all after altitude conversions.
Freshman Eva Dellorco won the women’s 400 meters with her time of 55.98 while senior Zoe Lemley ran a personal best of 1:00.52
In the men’s 400 meters, freshman Bradley Ekstrom finished in second with a time of 47.26, a personal best and the new No. 6 in outdoor program history. Junior Darius Wiggins also set a personal best at 47.62 and moved to No. 10 in the school record book.
Freshman Carly Norman set a personal best in the 100-meter hurdles with her finish of 14.68 for fifth.
In the men’s 110-meter hurdles, senior Jaheim Ferguson matches his personal best of 14.37 for fifth overall.
Freshman Taliah Morris set a personal best and tied for first in the 100-meter dash. Her time of 11.67 moved her to No. 3 in school history. Junior Faith Jehu also posted a personal best of 12.50 for seventh.
In the men’s 100 meters, junior Carter McComb was the top Poke finisher in fifth with a time of 10.55 while freshman Bridger Norton ran a personal best of 10.90 for 12th.
In the women’s 800 meters, freshman Hanan Aldelemy finished in fourth with her personal best of 2:10.90 for the No. 7 time in school history. Right behind her, junior Libby Berryhill-Worshek crossed the line at 2:10.37 for the No. 8 time in the program. Freshmen Kayla Coppola and Lily Nichols both posted personal best with times of 2:16.59 and 2:18.55, respectively.
On the men’s side, the top Cowboy finisher was junior Oscar Goll with a time of 2:02.84 for 11th.
Senior Gabby Drube took second in the women’s 400-meter hurdles with her time of 59.14 while freshman Lily McDowell ran a personal best of 1:03.09 for fourth.
In the men’s 400-meter hurdles, junior Carson Kaminski finished fifth with a time of 54.23.
The 200 meters saw three personal bests for the Pokes. For the women, Nichols finished with a time of 27.22 while for the men, Norton placed second with the No. 9 school time of 21.41 and freshman Logan Brown ran to a 21.66 finish.
The meet closed with the 3,000-meter Steeplechase. On the women’s side, junior Rozlyn Slichko won with a time of 11:28.92. On the men’s side, freshman Austin Akers finished in second, crossing the line at 9:39.99.
