Nutrition, Support and the Power of MOMs. Women, Infants, and Children’s Supplemental Program helps mothers be better moms. Jordan Pitchford, CLC, Nutritionist, and Jodi Brooks want to do just that. 

WIC is a USDA Food and Nutrition Services program that is run by the Wyoming Department of Health. WIC serves more moms than you think. In fact, we serve over half of all infants born in Wyoming. Their mission is to provide food, nutrition education, and support for income-eligible infants and children up to 5 years old, and women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or postpartum. They also offer support to anyone who cares for a child, including dads, grandparents, and foster parents who are eligible. Not only do they provide healthy food, including fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, milk, whole grains and nutrition tips to help growing families, but they also provide a community of support and encouragement for new moms. Breastfeeding moms can receive free breast pumps, along with tips and support for breastfeeding success.

WIC also provides referrals for other care services, such as pediatricians, social services, and immunization services. To see if you qualify, call 746-2677 or visit the office in Newcastle.
