Marty Ertman
My name is Marty Ertman and I am running for Weston County Commissioner. I have owned and operated a small retail store here in Newcastle for 30 years, which has given me a unique perspective that I bring to the board of county commissioners. I was also a local sports referee for 15 years. I believe research and being prepared is paramount, and I strive to do such for every meeting. I believe in hearing all sides and having open discussions to allow the board to have a clear understanding of the issues before decisions are made.
I have been honored to represent the people of Weston County. I have been and will continue to be a strong advocate for this county and her people not only on the local level but also at the state and federal level. Our county is a patchwork of federal and state lands which all need constant oversight to maintain a balance with our private landowners. Each decision made outside of our county needs to be scrutinized to insure that it is made with the best intent for our citizens.
I will continue to be a fiscal conservative. Making each dollar count with each and every budget request is a high priority. I will continue to be energetic and zealous in looking for funding from the state for our city, town and county. I will strive to protect the county’s assets including her roads.
One of the biggest issues facing us this term is redistricting. I learned a lot eight years ago when I was first elected, and with that experience I will again lobby the legislature to keep Weston County whole.
Weston County is my home. Always has been and always will be. I would appreciate your vote on Nov. 6. Thank you!
