Matthew 4:4; Then Jesus said, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”

We eat regularly. But let’s be honest—sometimes we don’t eat what we should. We eat what we want. Fast food. Junk food. Whatever’s quick and easy. We know it’s not the best for us, but we grab it anyway.

It’s the same with our walk with God. We don’t always feed ourselves spiritually the way we should. We know prayer is good for us. We know reading the Bible strengthens us. But too often, we get lazy or distracted. Other things seem more urgent, and our time with God gets pushed to the side.

But just like our body needs daily nourishment to stay strong, our spirit needs the Word of God. Not just once a week. Every day. That’s what feeds our faith. That’s what gives us strength to face temptation, trials, and hard days. That’s what brings clarity in confusion and peace in chaos.

Jesus made it clear—bread alone won’t keep us going. He was tempted in the wilderness, hungry and tired, yet He reminded Satan that real life comes from the Word of God. If Jesus needed that truth, how much more do we?

When we skip time in the Word, our spirit starts to weaken. It’s no wonder we feel drained, short-tempered, or unsure. We’re running on empty. But when we make time to sit with God, open His Word, and take it in—not just reading it, but letting it sink in—we’re fed. We’re renewed.

So today, ask yourself honestly: What are you feeding your spirit? Are you giving it what it needs, or just what feels easy?
God’s Word is not just information. It’s nourishment. It’s life.

Don’t snack on it. Don’t just skim.
Eat it.
Let it fill you.
Let it shape you.

“Your words were found and I ate them, and Your words became a joy to me and the delight of my heart; for I have been called by Your name, Lord God of armies.”
Jeremiah 15:16
