Unemployment remains lowest

Weston County closed 2019 with the lowest unemployment rate in the state for December, according to the Jan. 28 report released by the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services Research and Planning. 
This was the second month in a row that the county was marked the lowest unemployment rate, although the rate jumped by 0.2%. 
“Weston County reported the lowest unemployment rate at 2.5% in December,” the report says. 
State and national unemployment rates were 3.6% and 3.4%, respectively. 
Year over year, Weston County’s unemployment rate dropped from 3.1% in December 2018 to 2.5% in 2019. 
January unemployment rates will be released March 10.
