CASPER (WNE) — Donald Trump has endorsed Sen. John Barrasso’s reelection bid to the U.S. Senate. Barrasso announced he would seek a fourth term as senator in April.

He was initially appointed to the position in 2007 following the death of Sen. Craig Thomas and was first elected in a 2008 special election and reelected in 2012 and 2018.

“John works hard to stop the disastrous policies of crooked Joe Biden and to secure our border. John is a true patriot who fights to create jobs, lower inflation, promote American energy, uphold the rule of law and support our amazing farmers and ranchers,” Trump wrote on a Truth social post Sunday. “John Barrasso has my complete and total endorsement.”

Barrasso on Sunday responded to Trump’s endorsement.

“With your leadership in the White House, we can get our country back on track and start winning again. In the Senate, I will fight to pass your agenda for American energy dominance, low inflation, and to close the border,” He wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

In his April reelection announcement video, Barrasso pointed to energy and the southern border as key issues and said Wyoming residents are “literally paying the price of [President Joe Biden’s] weak leadership.”

“Every time we go to the grocery store or gas station, we see what Joe Biden’s reckless spending and left-wing policies have done to our cost of living,” he said.
