Paige Lauterwasser and Kasia Partyka named to All-MW Team - Holcomb Honorable Mention
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 26, 2024) – The Mountain West announced its 2024 All-Mountain West volleyball selections Tuesday morning. A total of three Cowgirls received all-conference honors. Paige Lauterwasser and Kasia Partyka were named to the All-Mountain West Team while Sarah Holcomb earned Honorable Mention status.
It is the first All-MW honor for Lauterwasser and the second for Partyka. Partyka becomes the first Cowgirl since Jackie McBride in 2021 to be named All-Mountain West in consecutive seasons. Partyka was fourth in the Mountain West averaging 9.47 assists per set. In league play, Partyka had at least 30 assists in all but one match and tallied eight double-doubles. Partyka, as always, was particularly strong in all categories in 2024 as she averaged 2.31 digs per set while also tallying 60 kills and 35 total blocks. Partyka was also named all-league last season.
Lauterwasser closed the season seventh in the league in kills per set at 3.44 while her 3.76 points per set ranked eighth best in the MW. Lauterwasser had a dozen matches with 10-or-more kills, including three with 20-plus. The sophomore had six double-doubles during league play while averaging 2.07 digs per set. Lauterwasser hit .235 in conference and also had 20 total blocks while appearing in all 68 sets.
Holcomb, meanwhile, was just a tenth of a block per set off the league lead for the second season in a row. Holcomb averaged 1.41 blocks per set, just behind UNLV’s Rheanna Deen-Jackson’s 1.42. Holcomb, who averaged 2.07 kills per set, was fifth in the league with a .376 hitting percentage on the season. Holcomb averaged better than three points per set on the league year and tallied 96 total blocks. Five separate times in conference action, Holcomb tallied 10-plus blocks in a single match. Holcomb notched 10-or-more kills eight times and had three double-doubles.
This marks the second straight season that Wyoming has placed two on the All-Mountain West Team, while also having an honorable mention honoree.
