Track & Field to Kickoff Season Saturday

LARAMIE, Wyo. (December 6, 2024) – The University of Wyoming track and field program will begin the 2024-25 indoor season by hosting the Power Meet inside the Hager-LeBar Indoor Track & Field Venue while distance runners will travel to Boston University for the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston, Mass., Saturday. Admission to Saturday’s Power Meet is free to the public with free parking around War Memorial Stadium.

Wyoming will host three programs, Air Force, Colorado State and South Dakota Mines, in the first weekend of the season. The meet will begin with field events at 11:30 a.m. and running events at 1:30 p.m. The schedule is as follows:

11:30 a.m. – Pole Vault, Weight Throw followed by Shot Put

Noon – High Jump, Long Jump followed by Triple Jump

1:30 p.m. – 55m Hurdles Prelims

2 p.m. – 55m Dash Prelims

2:25 p.m. – 600y Run

2:40 p.m. – 55m Hurdles Finals

2:55 p.m. – 55m Dash Finals

3:05 p.m. – 200m Dash

3:20 p.m. – 4x400m Relay

Distance runners from the men’s and women’s teams will travel to Boston for a premier early-season meet at the BU Track & Tennis Center. Wyoming will run in the 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter against many competitors they faced at the NCAA cross country Regional and National Championships just last month. Wyoming will run the following schedule in Boston:

1:10 p.m. MT – Men’s 3,000m

2:10 p.m. MT – Women’s 5,000m

4:30 p.m. MT – Men’s 5,000m
