Feb. 4, 1954–Oct. 20, 2024

Timothy James Chamberlain, known affectionately as Tim to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully from natural causes on Oct. 20, 2024, in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Born on Feb. 4, 1954, in Michigan, Tim’s journey through life was marked by his infectious humor, profound wisdom and boundless generosity. He was a beacon of joy and strength to all who knew him, and his legacy is one that will be cherished and celebrated.

Tim grew up in the rugged landscapes of Wyoming, graduating from Newcastle High School in Newcastle.

After high school, Tim worked for Exxon Oil. In later years, he ventured into the world of coal mining.

Tim’s family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Kayla Mir; his loving son, Cody Chamberlain; and his caring sister, Teresa Ackley.

Those who knew Tim would describe him as funny, often sharing laughter with anyone in need of a smile. He was wise, dispensing insights that seemed to cut to the heart of any matter. And above all, he was generous, always willing to lend a hand or offer support without expecting anything in return. Tim’s presence was a gift, and his absence will be deeply felt.

Upon his request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
