Terry M. Magnuson, 75, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021, at his home in New Effington, S.D.
Funeral services will be at a later date. The Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt, S.D., is in charge of the arrangements.
Terry McQuain Magnuson was born March 8, 1945, to Quentin and Agnes (Broz) Magnuson in Sisseton, S.D. He was baptized at Trondhjem Lutheran Church in
rural Rosholt and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in New Effington. He attended rural school through the eighth grade.  
On Sept. 15, 1973, Terry married Maxine Anderson in Tripp, S.D. After their marriage, they lived in New Effington, Victor, Rosholt, and Sisseton in South Dakota, Mesa, Ariz., and Newcastle, Wyo. Terry worked as a deputy sheriff, heavy equipment operator, mechanic and a welder. He loved to hunt and fish with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Magnuson of New Effington; children, McQuain (Michelle) Magnuson of Foxhome, Minn., Travis (April) Magnuson of Boxelder, S.D., Daryn Magnuson of New Effington, Philip (Yesneia) Brott of Cypress, Texas, and Thereasa (Randy) Flippin of Sherwood, Ariz.; grandchildren, Jessica Phillips, Kiya Magnuson, Stephanie Brott, Cordell (Morgan) Magnuson-Rikimoto, Terry Magnuson, Melody Brott, and Madison Brott; great-grandchildren, Aydenn Phillips, Shyla Hokanson, RyLynn Walters, and Annamarie Magnuson; and a sister, Connie Brus of Summit, S.D.
Terry was preceded in death by his daughter, Mandi Rikimoto; grandchildren, Trentin and Blaine Rikimoto; parents, Quentin and Agnes; two brothers, Larry Magnuson and Gary Magnuson Sr.; a sister, Kathy Magnuson; and a nephew, Dusty Magnuson.
